Green Amethyst

Green amethyst, also known as prasiolite, is a green variety of quartz, specifically heat-treated Brazilian amethyst. While naturally green amethyst exists, it's very rare, and most commercially available green amethyst is produced by heating amethyst to temperatures between 470°C and 750°C. This heat treatment changes the amethyst's colour from purple to green, yellow, or even brown.
