Collection: Peridot
Peridot’s historical country of origin is Egypt, where ancient miners first extracted the gemstone on St. John's Island (also known as Zabargad or Topazios) in the Red Sea over 3,500 years ago.
The first peridot stones were uncovered in 1500 B.C., off the coast of Egypt on Topazo Island.
Ancient Egyptians called it the "gem of the sun" and kept the island's exact location heavily guarded.
The Romans were big fans of this gem and nicknamed it the 'evening Emerald' once again because of its perceived ability to almost glow in the dark.
Peridot is celebrated in crystal-healing traditions as a vibrant stone of positivity, emotional renewal, and personal growth.
